Having a new roof installed can be a lot of work and will involve several people. To keep things going as smoothly as possible, there are a few things that you can do from your end to help out your roofer. So, in today’s post, your friends over at Right Angle Roofing & Siding shares three simple things that you can do to prepare your home for your beautiful new roof.
1. Clear Your Outdoor Space
The night before the workers arrive, you should clear your vehicles from the driveway and garage. Park it a safe distance away from your home so that you can give easy access to the trucks delivering your roofing materials.
If you have a patio or deck, clear away any toys and furniture to prevent them from being damaged. Your roofing company will need to be able to walk around freely on all sides and, since you want them to finish quickly, you wouldn’t want them to waste any time moving the stuff themselves.
2. Clear Your Attic
Needless to say, a roof installation job can get messy. If you are like most people, then you probably store important, albeit unused, items in your attic. If this is the case, consider moving them to a safer spot until the job is complete. If the items are too bulky or heavy to move, be sure to cover them with drop cloths to prevent them from dust and other debris.
3. Make Arrangements for Small Children and Pets
Usually, a roof replacement will take about one to two days, depending on the size of your roof. If you have pets or small children, you may want to consider making arrangements for them to be somewhere else while the job is ongoing.
