Seasonal Gutter Maintenance Tips to Keep in Mind

It’s important to keep your gutters clean and well-maintained throughout the year. Otherwise, they can deteriorate and damage your home over time. To help, be sure to work with a trusted roofing and siding contractor you can trust to keep your gutters in their best condition for years to come!

Before Cleaning Your Gutters

Before we start cleaning your gutters, we make sure that we have the right equipment for the job. For instance, we know that a simple six-foot A-frame ladder might not work for some roofs as it can be shorter or even less stable to use. We also make sure that the base is on stable ground and that it should be leaning towards the side of your roof, just enough that you won’t fall backwards. Depending on the type of roof you have, we’ll even use a ladder stabilizer as it can help rest the top of our ladder onto your gutters without damaging them!

While it’s possible to clean the gutters by yourself, if you’re not too experienced or don’t have the needed equipment, then you’re better off hiring a professional roofing contractor for the job. Don’t hesitate to call us today!

Other Tips To Keep in Mind

When it comes to gutter maintenance during winter, you need to closely monitor the ice damming on your gutters. If they start to form, clear them off immediately. Spring will be coming soon, so make sure to check your gutters for any cracks, sags and other damage sustained over the winter season.

We also suggest having gutter guards and shields installed if you still plan on cleaning them by yourself. This is so that you won’t have to worry about clogging throughout the summer and only need minimal effort to clean off minimal debris.
